Leading UK pizza producer
“We have weekly stand trailer collections of various grades of cardboard and plastic; we get a rebate for all these materials and have collections details clearly broken down in regular recycling reports.”

Requirements
We were contacted by a leading producer of frozen pizzas in the UK. They were unhappy with the service they were receiving from their existing contractor and asked for our help.
One of the 3B Recycling team attended site to perform a FREE waste audit and identified the following areas for potential improvement;
– Separation of cardboard pizza boxes, from brown cardboard boxes
– Further segregation of the plastic films to reduce food contamination
– Food ingredient buckets, no washing required
– Stand trailer to be supplied to help with storage
Solutions
By focusing on the above areas there was a clear plan to how we could help this site with reducing costs and increasing revenues.
Further segregation was required, which would provide a more sustainable supply chain for their wastes, and improve recycling percentages.
The customer was mixing multiple grades, and downgrading higher quality materials with the contamination of lower grade materials.
For example, 10% plastics contaminated with food were being baled with clean pallet wrap, the existing contractor was charging for contaminated plastic. Removing the 10% contaminated films, allowed for charges to be removed and a positive revenue to be generated.
3B Recycling helped this now long standing customer recycle more, and handle its waste more cost effectively.
We didn’t need to supply further machinery as the customer had balers on site so we simplified their waste journey.
Backresults delivered by 3B Recycling:
- Increased communication
- Provided a clear and precise waste management plan
- Increased revenues
- Allocated a key account manager
